The Galloway Motorcycle Club trials section got up and running for the first-time last year with events in South West Scotland. Sundays Trial at Thornhill was the first of 2020. The club has a good following of novice riders, since trials has never really had a strong hold in this area the club is keen to encourage all abilities.
The course was a combination of streams and embankments, all the recent wet weather left the ground rather soggy, however it was dry on the day. 30 riders competed over the 3 routes on offer. Despite the mud and water everyone seemed to enjoy the day out and there was a good atmosphere of riders encouraging others at all levels. The trial was fully observed, which is one aim of the club, and our hardy team of observers and helpers did a great job on the day. At the end of the day, tea, coffee and meat pies were on offer to all who took part and helped.
Next club trial will be a Saturday afternoon / evening trial on the 18th April near Lockerbie; soon to be posted on Trials Central. The following day the club is running a grass track event on the same ground.
A special mention to all our twin-shock and one pre-65 entry, great effort chaps!
