Thank you to the riders who made the trip over to Parkinson’s for our 3rd Trial run under Covid19 regulations, a total of 45 riders undertook the 8 sections set in the valley on either side of the Viking Way, Section 3 was the major mark taker with all but Expert and Clubman Class winners Shane Lockley and Alan Marin-Andrew keeping a clean sheet, Alan went on to ride the rest of the day without fault losing any marks, with most of his competitors well into double figures, Micky Allen who hasn’t ridden a trials bike for ages was back with the club and put in an impressive ride to finish as runner up in the Clubman class.
Shane Lockley continued his winning ways with another fine ride to win the Expert Class on again 2 marks lost the same score as his win at Smiths Farm, Mick Ash finished on 4, all lost on section 3, which if I remember from last time at Parkinson’s was equally unforgiving.
The club would just like to say thank you to John Wilkinson for another fine set of photographs, and a special thanks to our observers for manning the sections, with a special mention to Jeanette on section 8, a grassy hill climb that the club had used ages ago, that had obviously gotten easier over the years or perhaps all our skills had improved, she had the unenviable task of recording 360 zeros!! The only section that didn’t even take a dab all day! We need to find her something more interesting for next time ?
Entry forms for our next trial at South Elkington will also be limited to 48 riders and we will have the entry form on the website as soon as we get our AMCA authorization, so keep an eye open for it and we look forward to seeing you all at our next event. MG
