The final X-Trial of 2019, scheduled for Saturday April 27th at 6pm in the Poliesportiu d’Andorra, will provide a fitting conclusion to the 2019 season with plenty of incentives to the competitors.
For Andorra resident Toni Bou (Repsol Montesa Honda) this last X-Trial of the campaign presents him with a unique chance to win at home, and under little pressure with his thirteenth consecutive X-Trial World Championship already secure. The Spaniard will now look to entertain the crowd by taking spectacular risks that the rigors of a title tilt would not usually permit, whilst targeting another victory to put the finishing touches on a successful campaign.
Adam Raga (TRRS) can also relax ahead of this new X-Trial event, having already secured the runner-up place as Bou’s biggest rival of the season. But the two superstars will not have things all their own way as the supporting cast chase coveted world number three status. Gas Gas riders Jaime Busto and Jeroni Fajardo enter the event separated by just three points, each with two podiums this season, and both will be desperate to crown their season with a win.
Meanwhile Frenchman Benoit Bincaz (Beta) sits ten points behind Busto, his best finish and last podium appearance dating back to X-Trial Bilbao, but he still retains a mathematical hope of a bronze medal.
The only other permanent rider, Miquel Gelabert (Sherco), will hope to re-gain an X-Trial podium after starting the season on the injury list and missing out narrowly at X-Trial Marseille.
The field of event riders will be headed by veteran Takahisa Fujinami (Repsol Montesa Honda), the Japanese star makes his first appearance since X-Trial Barcelona. Completing the entry are young guns Jorge Casales (Vertigo) and Luca Petrella (Beta), both of whom will be eager to prove themselves worthy of a place within X-Trial’s élite.
