Toni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) increased his advantage in the general classification of the Trial World Championship to 16 points after this victory on the second day of the Grand Prix of Australia, held this Sunday in significantly better conditions than the day before. Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) won the third position on the podium, which he had missed the day before by a hair's breadth. The joint result of these two riders means a new triumph for Montesa as a manufacturer, consolidating their position as leaders.
Francesc Moret (Montesa) finished second in the Junior category after an effective second lap of the track. With these three podium positions in the present edition of the championship, Moret occupies the second position in the general classification.
Toni Bou: “The forecast came out well and in this second day, the zones were rather easier than yesterday, but the pressure was extreme during almost the entire race, as Jeroni was very tough and left me no margin for any mistakes. With two victories in the same weekend, we couldn't have done better in this journey to Australia, as to this double victory you have to add the benefit that I have obtained from the combination of the results of my principal rivals.”
Takahisa Fujinami: “We could say that I lost the podium position yesterday by a hair's breadth and today I won by the same measure. The first lap went quite well, but in the second, theoretically easier, I made some mistakes. When I reached the last zone, I was aware that it was decisive because it could get me to the podium, or if I made a mistake, put me in fifth position. I bore the pressure well and achieved a result that is encouraging for me in view of the grand prix in my country next weekend."
