Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) finished third after holding mathematical options for a better position until the last moment and thus achieved his intention to celebrate a new podium position before his supporters. A new victory for Montesa as manufacturer, consolidating their lead position in the general classification. Francesc Moret (Montesa) was seventh in the Junior category and now holds third position in the general classification.
Toni Bou: “Honda did a fantastic job and went to an enormous effort for us, so, what better result than a double victory in their country in gratitude? I'm very, very happy to have achieved it. Today was quite a bit more complicated than yesterday, as the race was not decided until I finished the last zone. It's been a perfect weekend that has allowed us to end the first half of the championship with a practically insuperable result. Our motivation is optimum and we're going to carry on working to keep it up way until the end”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I made a mistake in the fourth zone of the first lap, which determined the result. I increased the speed in the second lap, I went more at my own pace and when I reached the last zone I even had the chance to have obtained second position. I really wanted this podium position, for Honda as well as for myself, and of course I'm very happy to have achieved it. It was very important to celebrate this with my supporters, to whom I once again want to express my gratitude for their continuous support”.
