2012 FIM Trial World Championship Round 5, Day 1

montesa-hrc-logoToni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) continues with his victories, taking firm steps to what will be his sixth consecutive title in the World outdoor Trials Championship. The Montesa rider, not yet fully recovered from the injury  to the femoral biceps of his left leg last Saturday, won on the first day of the Grand Prix of Andorra, raising his advantage in the general classification to 44 points. Second at the end of the first lap, Toni Bou offered an example of his skill in the second lap, which he finished with just one

penalisation point.

Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) also obtained an excellent result, after injuring the little finger of his right hand last week. The Japanese rider tied in points with his teammate the first time he went through the zones and on the second lap he managed to maintain the third position and be on the podium for third time this season. Bou and Fujinami's results have placed Montesa closer to a new manufacturer's title.

Francesc Moret (Montesa) maintains his second position in the Junior word championship, despite finishing tenth today.

Toni Bou: “It's been a tough day, with my injured leg and two mistakes in the first lap that made things difficult for me. The second lap was key to achieve this victory that I consider very important and have celebrated with more joy than in other occasions. We've yet to see what's going to happen tomorrow, as I'm still in pain, but today's event couldn't have finished better”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “I felt well and confident during the first lap, in which I tied with Toni. I made some mistakes in the second lap, but they were not so important, because the main objective was to be on the podium and I did it. The doctor did a good job, as well as the team, who prepared the bike magnificently”.
