Work on the venue and events for the UK round of the 2013 FIM Trial World Championship, The Apico British Trial GP supported by Rock Oil, has continued at pace over the last few weeks. Event Director John Kerwin is pleased to announce that Red Bull will be repeating the support they gave the 2012 edition of this popular event.
The Friday and Saturday evening Youth Trials for electric bikes and C&D class petrol bikes have been filling up fast so, if you want your son or daughter to ride in one of the youth trials, get your entry in via the Lakes Grass Track Racing Club. Anthony Hayhurst is the man to talk to on 07718768948. It is highly unlikely that day entries will be available .
Moving onto the course developments, with the World Championship having major rule changes it has given us the opportunity to run 3 laps of 12 sections - a total of 36 sections per day instead of the mandatory two laps of fifteen sections in previous years. Course designer, Graham Jarvis has dropped the 3 least spectacular sections from last year’s world trial and concentrated his efforts and time in developing the remainder to make them spectacular under the new no stop rules. With the compact and easily walkable course at Nord Vu, these changes will make it even easier for spectators to take in even more of the action.
For those who prefer the older bikes, we are also pleased to confirm that we will have a classic Pre-65 and Twinshock trial demo and exhibition of machines during the weekend. Planning for this is still on-going and full details will be released shortly .
Discounted tickets for this not to be missed weekend in the Trials calendar are on sale now at www.worldtrialuk.co.uk
