Repsol Montesa Team, Andorra Day 2

montesa-hrc-logoThis Sunday, Toni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) won the second day of the Trial Grand Prix of Andorra authoritatively, a victory that has placed him just one point from the World Championship leader. Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) repeated yesterday's position (fifth) and remains third in the general classification. A new victory for Montesa in the classification by manufacturer, reinforcing their leadership position.

Toni Bou was impeccable in the two laps of an 18-zone track, which in the opinion of the plurichampion, was of little difficulty. Ten points advantage accumulated after the first lap gave the Montesa rider an excellent margin for what was to be his second victory. Even so, Toni Bou continued fighting to the limit in the second lap, where he obtained the lowest score of the week. Takahisa Fujinami, finished the first lap in a possible podium position that he lost due to two mistakes on the second lap.

Toni Bou: “I needed this victory, both for the points and for the confidence it gives me at this stage of the championship. It's not that I am lacking confidence, but the new regulations are very uncomfortable for me. I felt very well today, riding calmly and without making mistakes and the result clearly reflects this. It's been a very important victory”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “I'm satisfied with my first lap, but very disappointed with the second. I went from seeing myself on the podium to repeating the same result as yesterday. What's positive is that I'm still third in the general classification. There's little more I can say”.
