The Trials Grand Prix of Spain, to be held in the area of Pobladura de las Regueras, León, will be contested this Sunday by the two Gas Gas riders who are leaders of the championship. In Andorra, Adam Raga maintained his status at the head of the table in World Pro, and Jorge Casales has clinched the lead in the Junior category.
Unlike other GP rounds, the Spanish round only consists of one day of competition with Saturday being a round of the Spanish National championship. The race will have a loop of twelve sections over 15 kilometers in which will have to be ridden three times.
In addition to Adam Raga, who is having a terrific season with three wins in six races so far, the other riders of Gas Gas Factory Team, Frenchman Loris Gubian, Italian Matteo Grattarola and the Spanish rider Pere Borrellas also look for a satisfactory result. One rider who willnot be at Pobladura will be Brit Michael Brown, who returned to the World Cup in Andorra after a knee problem suffered in the Scottish, but is still not 100% recovered. Doctors have advised him to wait until the next round to return to racing.
Casales plays "at home"
Jorge Casales, the leader of the Junior category, will defend his position at 'home'. In the race, he hopes to have the support of his friends, coming from his hometown, Vigo. The member of the Gas Gas School of Champions, the winner of the Trial of Andorra, hopes to continue the streak in a trial in which he is accustomed to doing well. However, the great rivalry that exists in the category, can yield some surprises. In this regard, note that another Gas Gas rider, Francesc Moret, is achieving excellent results and a podium in Andorra in the first of the two day trial.
In addition to seeing the best riders in the world, the spectators at Pobladura throughout the weekend, will see the new models of the 2014 Gas Gas TXT Pro, 2014 Racing, and the Factory Replica. The full range of motorcycles, displayed from 9 in the morning on Saturday will be shown until Sunday. They represent the latest evolution in the constant research and development of the brand that offers it's customers the most excellent products.
Spanish Championship
Saturday, also in Pobladura, will be a round of the Spanish Trial Championship, in their categories TR3, TR4, Junior, Cadet, Juvenile and Feminine, where riders competing with Gas Gas may have technical assistance at the official Gas Gas truck.
Adam Raga:
"Being ahead in the championship is a good thing, a sign of the good work we are doing every day and that the team is working well. We look forward to doing even better. I'm happy with my performance. This year I think I am in my best form".
Jorge Casales:
“In Pobladura, I really like it, historically it went very well for me and I'm super-motivated because it is so close to home and friends and family will come to support me. I hope they encourage me rather than making me nervous! My rivals: Pol Tarres, Francesc Moret, Jack Sheppard, are very strong. I still cannot believe I'm leading. Much remains in the championship and a lot can happen".
