Both Championship JSTGGUK riders Michael Brown and Alexz Wigg were both out on new PRO REPLICA models at the British round of the 2014 FIM Trial World Championship this weekend. A new bike can often improve confidence and enthusiasm and it was hoped that, along with the backing of the home crowd, this would give the lads a boost.
Both riders grafted hard on the Saturday and they had their best WTC results of the year with Michael 8th and Alexz 10th. On Sunday things weren’t quite as good with Michael in 10th after too many mistakes and Alexz in 13th.
Most riders scores improved when the conditions got easier as the day went on, but sadly not for our two boys. Wiggy did well to finish after wrecking a footrest and bracket on the last lap which spoiled his chances.
Michael has now jumped to 11th in the overall world championship standings and is now only 4 points behind his team mate Matteo Grattarola, so the fight is on!
Alexz is in 12th position, two points behind Michael.
R+T GG rider Jack Price had another nightmare day on Saturday but recovered well with a great 6th place on Sunday.
Congratulations to the organisers, but I feel a fresh venue is needed. Shame there didn't seem to be as many spectators as expected.
Thanks to Kev for prepping Michaels immaculate new Replica.
