Sunday saw the 5th round of the RT Keedwell sponsored British Trials Championships run by the Neath MCC down at Aberdulais, South Wales. This venue has proved popular in the past as it offers plenty of different hazards from rocky outcrops to steep bans to streams.

James Dabill took a big step to regaining his British number 1 crown with a superb win from his major rival Michael Brown at the St David's. James and Michael were running level after the first of 3 laps but the second of Dabill's laps was sufficient to take a well earned victory. James was the only rider to clean section 6 a big uphill climb and he repeated the feat on his second visit when an exit for 3 marks lost was regarded as a success.

Ross Danby aboard the Jotagas was back on the podium after three very consistent laps that took him clear of Jack Sheppard and Alexz Wigg.

Best of the newcomers to the senior series was Iwan Roberts riding on home territory the young Welsh rider has scored Championship points in four of the five rounds to date. He finished the day in 10th place overall.

The Expert class is proving to be a bit of a runaway competition for Guy Kendrew. He has simply won every round to date and now he has added the St David's. He now only needs 3 points from the remaining two round to tie up the Expert Class. Behind him however riders are all taking points off each other and James Stones, Joel Edwards and Tom Affleck are still all in with a shout for second and third places overall.

We now have a 3 week gap to the final showdown which sees riders competing in the West of England Trial on September 20th and the Torridge round the day after.
