The GAS GAS boys Jack Price (R+T GG) and Jack Peace (JST/Cloburn GG) continued to dominate both days at the weekend WTC in France. A great new venue at Lourdes welcomed the paddock and overnight rain made for very slippery conditions on the Saturday.
Jack Peace won both days. Easily on Day 1 when conditions were harder and again on Day 2 when the club eased the course making for closer competition with Max Faude. Jack kept his cool and finished with a a great last lap to win by 5 marks. Jack now has a 22 point lead and things are looking good for the 125cc World Title. Jack needs to keep his head and take one event at a time.
Jack Price is also looking like a well worthy Trial2 Class World Champion in the making after yet another solid weekend. He was second on Day 1 beaten by the French rider Chatagno in France on a French bike J. Jack just shrugged his shoulders and was still smiling on the podium. Day 2 Pricey got back to where he belongs on the top step of the podium and bagged another 20 points to extend his championship lead to 36 points over Iwan Roberts who is now back second in the Championship. Great Teamwork again from the Barnsley Boys.
GG Factory rider Arnau Farre had another average weekend with a 5th and 6th struggling with the slippery conditions in places.
Dan Peace had a consistent weekend with a podium day 1 in 3rd and 4th day 2 just missing the podium by 1 mark. Dan is now a regular on the Trial2 podium and im sure we’ll see him on the top step again before the season closes in Italy in September. Dan is now 4th in the Championship with 3rd possible with 5 days competition left to ride. A few less mistakes and Dan will be winning.
In the GP Class GG Factory rider Matteo Grattarola returned to form with a 7th on Day 1 and a good 10th on Day 2. Matteo gave 100% this weekend and I must say had the best bike thanks to Andrea Tron from who is Claudio Favro no.1 mechanic. Biased maybe…but true!
Franzi Kadlec was 9th on Day 1 and slipped to 13th on Day 2. Franzi is proving to be a strong TrialGP Class rider this year and isa now 10th in the Champiosnhip behind Gratta in 9th.
Hakon Pederson was a non starter on Saturday suffering from an ear infection. He manned up on Sunday and although feeling weak managed a 16th.
Congrats to the GG Factory Team and for ‘Year 1’ things are looking good with GG back in the WTC paddock.
